STEP 1

Your Design Dream

The MC custom and personalized process starts with a one-on-one Get to Know the Client meeting. Here we discuss what the client is looking for, types of designs liked, stones and colors preferred, and metals favored, etc. Some basic quick sketches might be done at this time as well as explaining an overview of the process. This phase includes discussions on timing and budget.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) Rendered Photo
STEP II

Formal Design – CAD Creation

Once a mutual design direction is determined by the client and MC, the designer will begin a computer aided design (CAD). We will provide the client with a more detailed rendered photo of the design so they can see a representation of what their design will look like.

For clients interested in rings and pendants and want to see and feel a scale replica of the final design, MC can offer a pre-production 3D model of their exact piece. A replica can be delivered within two weeks after CAD is completed and the pricing starts at $250.

STEP III

Stone Acquisition

Finding the perfect gemstone begins when the final CAD design is finished and approved. Stones will be chosen by our GIA Graduate Gemologist. Sometimes the client will be asked to choose for color preference. If your design does not include stones, this step will be skipped.

3D Printed Replica

STEP IV

3D Printing of Final Design

The fourth production step is the 3D printing stage. A resin piece is printed to use for casting. It looks exactly like your design but is made of a wax polymer that is easily melted. This is used to make the mold for pouring the metal that will become your finished piece.

STEP V

Design Casting

This is the stage where your design begins to take its final form. A mold has been made from your 3D printed piece to form a negative space. Your chosen metal is then melted and poured into the mold producing the raw casting of your design. This process is known as lost wax casting.

STEP VI

Bench Jeweling

Previously, your raw casting was in a rough, dull form without gemstones. It is now given to our expert bench jewelers where the stones are set, and it is polished to world class standards to achieve its final beauty.

STEP VII

Presentation and Delivery

Once your design passes the final inspection and exceeds the strictest review, we begin the final stage. Care and technical instructions will be reviewed in detail to ensure the longevity of the design. Then the real fun of the presentation and delivery begins. This is the most rewarding stage for us. Nothing compares to seeing the joy on a client’s face as they experience their First Wearing—adorning themselves with their dream.
